The hotel was conveniently located for exploring Lichfield and was suited well for an overnight stay before heading home. The service was top-notch, and the dining experience was satisfactory. However, the rooms felt outdated and gave off a not-so-pleasant vibe upon entry.

The hotel was absolutely brilliant for me, my family, and especially our pet monkey. The rooms were large, clean, and the problem we had initially didn't persist. However, the rooms seemed a little tired. The service, highlighted by the newspaper service, was top-notch. The location on an extremely busy dual carriageway was a bit of a downside, but it suited us very well for an overnight stay before returning home. The dining experience, specifically in the Toby Carvery pub attached to the hotel, was in the not bad range, with very good and freshly cooked to order dishes. The facilities were substantial, meeting our needs during the stay.

The hotel's rooms give off a vibe from the stone ages, like something out of Hagrid's cottage upon entry, with dated decor and a large, grey sofa bed that should be removed. However, the location suited our needs, especially for visiting the National Memorial Arboretum and exploring Lichfield. The dining options were good, offering plenty of choices, but we found breakfast at the nearby Fradley Arms to be a bit lacking. Overall, the hotel's facilities were basic but served their purpose.

My stay at this hotel was a mixed experience. The rooms were small but fine, with an excellent level of service from the reception staff over the Christmas period. However, the smell of stale beer and cigarettes was off-putting. The location was ideal for my visit to the National Memorial Arboretum and exploring Lichfield, but there were some shortcomings in the dining options. Overall, it suited us well for an overnight stay before attending a wedding at Swinfen Hall.
Rooms

6.2/10
The hotel gives off a very dated vibe, reminiscent of something out of the stone ages, particularly with the room aesthetics. The reception staff during the Christmas period were exceptional, going the extra mile for me, my family, and even our pet monkey. On the flip side, the overall atmosphere felt somewhat like stepping into Hagrid's cottage.
Rooms
5.0
The rooms are in dire need of an update, giving off a very old-fashioned feel. However, they were adequate for our needs and aligned with Premier Inn's usual standards.
Service
9.0
The staff, despite the outdated surroundings, provided excellent service. The attention we received, especially towards our pet monkey, was exceptional.
Location
7.0
The location suited our needs well, being conveniently situated for an overnight stop before heading back. While the busy dual carriageway may deter some, it was perfect for our specific requirements.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience was a mix of highs and lows. While the breakfast provided was not bad, the comparison to other Premier Inns raised concerns about the value for money. On a positive note, the availability of soya milk on the buffet made things hassle-free.
Facilities
5.0
The facilities were lacking the modern touch one would expect, reflecting the overall outdated theme of the hotel. However, all the essential amenities were present and functional.
